Okemos, MI (January 5, 2022) - There were confirmed injuries following a structure fire in Okemos on Saturday evening, January 1. The incident took place at a residence located at the 1800 block of Shadywood Lane at around 10:22 p.m.
The fire reportedly started on the second floor of the home. Firefighters were at the scene to help extinguish the blaze. Nearly a dozen units were reportedly assisting. Two people involved were taken to a local hospital for treatment of sustained injuries. No firefighters were injured in the fire.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the blaze is being handled by local authorities.
