When a pedestrian is traveling on a county or city street and they are struck by a passing vehicle, the injuries they may sustain in the crash can be extremely severe. Pedestrians are usually more prone to endure more serious or even catastrophic injuries than the occupants of cars or trucks, as drivers and passengers in these vehicles benefit from various safety features and protection. Pedestrians travel virtually unprotected, putting them at much greater risk of injury or even death if they become involved in a traffic collision.
