Unfortunately, traffic accidents in Michigan happen numerous times per day. On average, the state sees about 800 vehicle accidents daily, or around 300,000 per year. Of these accidents, more than 60,000 people sustain injuries and over 1,000 lose their lives. Being injured in an accident can have a devastating impact on the lives of victims. If you or someone you love has recently sustained an injury in a traffic crash, you’re aware of how difficult the following days, weeks, or even months can be. You may have been seriously hurt in the wreck you were involved in and forced to spend a lot of time in hospital care and out of work. This may present you with a serious financial burden that can be especially stressful.
The cost of medical care can be overwhelming, and while being unable to work, you may be wondering how you’re going to pay for it and all of the other costs associated with your wreck. Depending on the circumstances of your accident, you may be able to collect financial compensation for your injuries and losses. If another person ultimately caused the crash by driving in a negligent manner, you deserve to be compensated for the losses you have endured. A personal injury lawyer in Michigan will be able to help you figure out the next necessary steps to take in order to recover compensation to help you move forward.
Traffic accidents involving commercial trucks are often more severe than any other type of crash. This is due to the sheer size and weight of semi-trucks, which are often 20 to 30 times heavier than passenger vehicles. Across the United States, currently, there are more than 11 million trucks actively operating, many with overworked and fatigued drivers carrying hazardous loads. In 2016, approximately 475,000 large truck collisions were reported in the United States. Human error was the leading cause of these wrecks, accounting for more than 90% of them.
The only way an auto accident can get worse is if someone you love loses their life. Under this horrible circumstance, a wrongful death lawyer in Indianfields will know exactly what to do to help you collect financial compensation for the death of your loved one. Financial compensation can help cover some or all of the associated costs with your loved one’s passing and make it easier for you to focus on your family and emotional health during this potentially heart-wrenching time.
