Sandusky, MI (December 21, 2021) - The Walmart parking lot in Sandusky was the scene of an injury accident that left two people hurt on Sunday, December 19. The wreck was reported to police at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Sources say the incident occurred when a 61-year-old man from Marlette was driving his 2011 Ford F-150 in the parking lot at approximately 11:20. He reportedly slammed into a vehicle parked in a row of the parking lot, causing a chain reaction that damaged 7 other cars.
A 56-year-old Melvin man was loading groceries into his vehicle at the time of the wreck and was injured due to the collision. He was transported to McKenzie Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are unspecified at this time.
The 61-year-old man who caused the accident also sustained injuries. He was taken to an area medical center for treatment after the wreck occurred.
Investigators are still working to determine what caused the collision. The incident will be reported to the Sanilac County Prosecutor’s Office to be reviewed for potential criminal charges.
