Fillmore, MI (December 19, 2021) - Authorities say that a person died after a crash that happened on I-196 near Holland Friday evening, December 17.
The incident reportedly happened around 7:00 p.m. on southbound I-196 near 146th Street in Fillmore Township.
At that time, a pedestrian crossing the intersection was hit by a vehicle, the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office said in a release. By the time EMS units arrived at the scene, the victim had passed away.
Officials are not identifying the victim at this time. Authorities in Fillmore continue to investigate the details of the incident. Nothing further is currently available to report concerning the nature of the wreck.
