Detroit, MI (December 17, 2021) - A major car accident took place on an interstate in Detroit on Friday, December 17. The incident was reported to officials at around 10:13 p.m.

Police and first responders were called to the scene, located on Interstate 96 at West Grand Boulevard. Upon their arrival, they rendered aid and emergency transportation to those who sustained injuries in the wreck.

The right lane and right shoulder of the interstate as well as the entrance ramp to West Grand Boulevard were shut down while officers investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash. Delays in traffic were observed in the area and local motorists were asked to use alternate routes of travel for the time being.

The names of the victims have not been released at this time. Police in Detroit continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
