Ferndale, MI (December 16, 2021) - A 10-year-old has recently died from injuries sustained in an auto accident that happened after three children stole a vehicle from a group home in Oakland County.
The collision that was previously reported took place on November 17 near 8 Mile Road and Flowerdale Street in Ferndale. After the 10-year-old,11-year-old, and 16-year-old stole a vehicle from the Methodist Childrens’ Home Society in Redford, they reportedly slid off the roadway and into a building.
The 10-year-old sustained critical injuries in the accident while the 11-year-old along with a 16-year-old who was present in the vehicle at the time sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The other two children have since recovered from their injuries, while the 10-year-old sadly lost their life in the hospital. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.
