More than 100 people are killed in Michigan pedestrian collisions each year. In 2018, for each pedestrian who lost their life in a traffic accident in Michigan, there were 13 pedestrians who sustained injuries. Pedestrians continue to be injured and killed in traffic collisions at alarming rates in Michigan and throughout the United States.
Sadly, most of these accidents are due to driver negligence, the most common reason that traffic accidents of any kind occur.
