Mt. Pleasant, MI (December 08, 2021) - On Saturday, December 4th, a deputy from the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office was nearing the intersection of Lincoln Road and Remus Road at about 12:45 p.m. when he witnessed a fatal two-vehicle accident.
The driver of a pick-up truck that was involved in the crash, a 33-year-old man from Union Township man, refused medical treatment.
Inside the other vehicle were a 37-year-old woman and three children, a girl and two boys, one of whom was three years old. All were residents of Mecosta County.
Both boys were in the back seat when the accident occurred. The deputy noticed that they were in serious condition and assisted with medical treatment until Emergency Medical Services and first responders arrived.
The younger boy died at the scene. The older boy was med flighted to Devos Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
The driver, a 37-year-old woman, and a 12-year-old girl were both transported in non-critical condition.
