Onsted, MI (December 6, 2021) - A woman from Adrian was killed in a truck accident on Thursday evening, December 2. The accident was reported to officials in the area at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Deputies with the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene on Gilbert Highway south of Teachout Road shortly after the incident occurred. Information provided to Lenawee County Central Dispatch revealed that the female driver of a truck had lost her life in the crash.
Reports from authorities show that a 2005 Chevy pickup was headed south on the highway just south of Teachout Road when it was involved in a head-on crash with a New Holland farm tractor. The tractor was headed north at the time.
The driver of the truck was identified as a 31-year-old female from Adrian. She was pronounced deceased on-site by paramedics. The tractor’s driver, a 19-year-old male from Tipton, suffered minor injuries. He was treated on-site by Cambridge Fire officials.
At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team. The Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team as well as the Cambridge Township Fire Department and Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office were all present and working at the scene for some time.
