Following a fatal Michigan car accident, it is imperative that the victim’s surviving family members seek the advice of an experienced personal injury attorney. Various important no-fault benefits are available to the family of the victim, such as survivor’s loss benefits.
Unfortunately, the majority of auto insurance companies are either not straightforward in letting the family know what insurance benefits they are entitled to collect, their calculations are off, or the benefits do not encompass all of the damages the family is actually entitled to, such as burial and funeral expenses, social security benefits, replacement services, pension compensation, and disability benefits.
Data provided by the auto insurance industry itself affirms that families who are contacted directly by the insurance company with a settlement offer receive, on average, four times less than what they would have received with an experienced car accident attorney on their side.
