After being injured in a car accident, it is necessary to have your attorney start their investigation as promptly as possible. This is so witnesses can be interviewed, pictures of the accident scene and vehicle taken, and other evidence can be gathered. The more time elapses, the more difficult it is to track down witnesses that will help your case, and evidence, such as surveillance videos from nearby stores, could be deleted.
Your insurance carrier can, and will, undervalue your no-fault benefits without your knowledge. There are very strict deadlines for filing personal injury and insurance claims. If you miss one of these deadlines, your case will be thrown out and you will not be given the opportunity to re-file, meaning you will be unable to collect compensation for your damages.
