Sand Beach, MI (November 25, 2021) - A two-vehicle collision in Huron County’s Sand Beach Township sent two people to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries on Monday, November 22nd.
Troopers were dispatched following reports of an injury crash on Sand Beach Road in the area of Learman Road when a 76-year-old woman from Harbor Beach, driving eastbound in a 2005 Buick Rendezvous, drove onto the south shoulder, overcorrected, and entered oncoming traffic.
At that same time, a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer heading westbound, driven by a 48-year-old man from Decker, was unable to avoid the eastbound Buick and the two collided, causing injury to both drivers.
The woman was airlifted by a Lifenet helicopter to an out-of-region hospital for emergency treatment. The male was transported by EMS to a local hospital.
This accident is under investigation.
Troopers were assisted by the Harbor Beach Police and Fire Department’s, East Huron Ambulance, and Huron County Sheriff’s Office.
