Fenton, MI (November 25, 2021) - A deputy was badly injured at about 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 22nd when he pulled a vehicle over for a traffic violation on Butcher Road, in the area of Fenton Road, in Fenton Township.
An official from the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department said that the 35-year-old male driver fled the scene, moments after the deputy made contact.
The deputy, who was still in the window of the vehicle, was dragged for a short distance. He then lost his balance and fell, sustaining a serious head injury.
The deputy was transported to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment of his head wound.
The suspect has since been apprehended.
