Marion Township, MI (November 22, 2021) - Police in Marion Township are currently investigating the cause of a fatal auto accident that occurred at about 7:00 p.m. on November 16. The crash took the life of one 50-year-old Pinckney resident, according to reports.
Sources say that a 2013 Mazda 3 driven by the Pinckney resident crossed the centerline of Pinckney Road near Coon Lake Road and sideswiped a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe headed north. The Mazda was headed south at the time.
The Tahoe was being driven by a 31-year-old resident of Howell who sustained no injuries in the crash. A third vehicle, a Ford Focus, was then struck head-on by the Mazda 3. The driver of the Focus, a 25-year-old woman from Pinckney, sustained serious injuries and required emergency transport to the University of Michigan Medical Center from the scene.
Police were assisted at the scene by Michigan State Police Brighton Post personnel and Livingston County EMS, as well as the Howell Area Fire Department.
